First Impressions

So this was a bit more of a spontaneous restaurant visit… As part of our aim to try new things we bought some tickets to the Wildlife Festival (more about that to come soon😁).  On our mini road trip to Brighton, we (Maria, Nifesi, Maria & Ella – yes there are two Marias) decided it was wise to grab a bite to eat, to at least line our bellies before dancing the night away at the festival. We were also warned that the food and drink at Wildlife could be extortionately priced, so stopping off to get some brunch was a no brainer. After reading good reviews on the internet, we decided to go to the New Club restaurant on Brighton Sea Front. It was quite busy when we arrived but we were seated pretty quickly with a good view of the restaurant.

New Club is described as breakfast, steaks, burgers and cocktails in a laid-back all-day coffee house/diner/bar by the sea. To be honest, it is exactly what it says on the tin, the atmosphere was very relaxed yet still  buzzing, with different interactions, conversations and laughter. It’s  a perfect spot to catch up with friends, gossip about new interests and celebrate life so close to the sea. As we were all pretty hungry, we dug right into the menu and started ordering.

Our Thoughts

The restaurant staff were on the ball and friendly. The customer service was good, however, it did take a while for our order to arrive at the table.  We can only assume that this was because the restaurant was very busy at the time. As you can see from the pics, the portions were reasonably sized. The dishes were enjoyable and definitely hit the hunger spot! After gathering feedback from everyone it was noted that  ‘The English’ was simply standard and maybe slightly  overpriced. ‘The Vegetarian’ and ‘Crispy Fried Chicken Burger’ were both given a thumbs up and went down a treat. Last but by no means least, with lots of great flavours and unexpectedly more filling than it looked, the ‘Mexican Eggs’ came up on top as the favourite.

Would we visit again? Yeh. The food was decent, it’s in a lovely location and the atmosphere was great. We already have our eyes set on the pancakes for next time we visit Brighton.😜
